I recently became obsessed with her jewelry collections and started keeping up with her via twitter. I took the chance in twitting her and her publicist to conduct a "twitterview" with me. (Yes, I made that up!) and to my surprise they DO ANS TO THEIR FANS!!! :)

Natalia Diaz, publicist for Loren Jewels, is the sweetest person ever.  She was prompted with the response to my email and questions below...

_________________________________________________________

Here is my "twitterview" with Loren Ridinger and her publicist Natalia Diaz:

1. When was the first collection(s) launched?
Loren Jewels was launched in April 2010

2. What were some inspirations for the different collections?
Old Hollywood glamour, Paris because it’s my favorite city and it’s so romantic and glamorous. The “Queen of Jewels” was inspired by 13th century medieval Europe, this era was so Avant-garde and luxurious.

3. What inspired the collection with Kim Kardashian? And why just earrings.
Kim inspired me to do the “Kim Kollection” When Kim comes over we often lay in bed like high school and start trying on all the jewelry. Kim has a great eye for style and loves big luxurious earrings.

4. What would you say has been the biggest challenge thus far?
Being prepared for all the attention Loren Jewels is getting, it’s been amazing, but I have to say it’s keeping up with all my other business that are demanding and require my attention.

 5. What is the most rare piece ever created?
The blue and white diamond earrings from the Kim Kollection! They are spectacular, I love the natural blue diamonds.

6. What's your personal favorite piece (you- Natalia and Loren's) ?

Natalia: My favorite piece is a diamond snake pearl ring, it’s one of a kind, PRICELESS.

Loren: I am a huge fan of the Jennifer ball bracelet I love the way it looks. I named it “Jennifer” because the day I wore it, Jennifer fell in love with it and took it from me, but girlfriends can do that. So of course it became Jennifer’s bracelet.

7. What advice would you give me as an aspiring accessories designer?
Do your research and believe in your brand. You are the designer and the brand if you love it than go for it, the rest will happen organically.

I was truly thankful for this "twitterview" and still cannot believed they replied to my questions. These women are very inspiring and humble human beings and i know they are making their fans day EVERYDAY by retweeting them and taking time out of their busy schedules to do all this, i know they made MY day.

Thank you Loren Ridinger and Natalia Diaz.

I am forever grateful and look up to you women :)

Tutorial on how to make a handbag...

Just thought I'd share with you guys where i get my visions and inspirations from.

This is what i plan to do next. It may look easy because this guy makes it look easy but once i do it and video tape myself doing it I'll post it so you guys can see it.

This is basically how i make my bags. Except i usually don't measure them, i just go with eye measurements and assumptions which can be a negative. Not knowing the measurements and not having patterns makes things so much more complicated than it needs to be. you don't know how small they're going to come out or if they're too big etc...

But.. as you can see ... if he can do .. i sure as heck can do it too :) AND MUCH BETTER!..this bag is a little less than mediocre.. way too common and cheap looking..so i know by adding some jewels here, adding some metal there, sprinkle a lil Margie love and voila QUE BELLEZA! :) its A MARGIE CREATION!!!! hahaha <-- im really laughing lol

Eventually when you create and design a product the ideal thing to do is find manufacturers to make your products for you because making each and every bag can become a lil exhausting and time consuming and eventually impossible. The trick is researching manufacturing companies overseas and just start emailing away with pictures (if you can sketch) of your product with measurements, colors and dimensions clearly stated. Once you find a few manufactures that are willing to create a free sample for you, they can ship it to you and if you choose to go with them some will offer great deals depending on the materials needed for your bag. A bag that requires little intricate work, and its cloth can be made for just $5... you may be asking "Margie what the hell is the catch?"....(there's always a catch).. when you purchase from these manufactures it cant just be one bag.. or 2 bags.. it has to be about 500-1000 bags. and unless you have about $3,000-$5,000 to spare, this is not the way you want to go. (BANANAS)

SOO what you do is find a seamstress like i am. And pay them $5-$10 a bag , depending on how long it takes them to do it, you can research the market on that particular bag and figure out the prices but a clutch made like this with intricate details can be sold for about $30-$40 a piece.. you're making about $30 profit PER BAG. amazing? AMAZIIIINGGGGGGGG

lol so i'll leave you with that.. piece of my mind and my plan.

xox enjoy and follow :)

Say cheeeeeese!

I'm no model but after doing a photo shoot for my friends company beautyymark.org I felt like I was hotter than Kim Kardashian and I was ready for the runway! lol watch out Adriana Lima.. you've got some serious competition hahaha (yeah right i need to be chemically induced to proceed with possing in front of a massive crowd  yikes)

Yuli (star and owner of beautymark- http://www.beautyymark.org/) hosted a photo shoot in her gorgeous apt in the Bronx (the finest part lol) along with photographer Amon- http://www.amonfocusphotography.com/ - the ultimate ego booster, i mean this guy makes you feel like the "flyest" chick in the world.  I'm serious -.-. lol

All her models looked absolutely GORGEOUS!... She selected looks for each of her models and put them on paper like the picture below and what made it even better was that she selected the perfect look for our faces and personality.

(PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PICTURES TAKEN ARE WITH MY BLACKBERRY AND IPHONE)

Here's where it began..

Ann ready for her look... and this is what she looked like after :) I've baptized this look as the "Punky" look..

Gorgeous!!! I feel like every color looks good on her.  She has the beautiful dark eyes, luscious lips ... IloveIt.com baby!!

_________________________________________

Here's a look i thought was a huge transformation... i don't have a before pic but she came in with a "bare natural" face.. (as we all did) and this is the outcome of a Yuli touch!

Moving along to my favorite look... Lina Marcela :) I personally call this one "The Fairy Godmother"

Lina had the perfect face for this look.  Gorgeous complexion and the colors looked great on her with her pretty round face she looked so hot! tsssssssss ay mami caliente haha

My ultimate favorite! Juliana... This sweet and gorgeous girl was transformed to a Fierce Lil Miss Diva... She definitely belongs in the Broadway show Cats or Cirque du Soleil... LOOOVE IT!

 The master at work!.... http://www.beautyymark.org/

Here are the most fierce looks together! definitely look like stars from the upcoming Broadway show "Beautyymarks  Fierce and Love" hahah but seriously wouldn't that be a good idea... hmmm a Broadway show all about fashion, make-up and all things girly... <--- a million dollar idea by MARGIE BRITO :)

Moving on to lil ol' me..

Red lips, "back to the 80's" polka dots. long lashes.. fierce.. SO ME! :) loved my look!

 Ann and I...

posing for my blackberry during Lina's shoot...

Amazing what a lil lipstick can do... went Pink instead of Red... ouuuuch!

This shoot was simply amazing and i felt like a queen! With Amon's encouraging words i was ready to take over the world.. not sure if he told all the girls the same thing haha but he sure made me feel like i was the hottest chick there (which as you can see, i clearly was surrounded with nothing but beauties!)

After i left the wonderful world of beautymark (aka Yulis house in the bx) i headed to queens to drop off the models then headed to hooters for a night of wings, beer and UCF fights! (crazy crazy crazy) i was home by 1am and i STILL LOOKED FLY! check me out... (minus the lashes)

Overall this was an amazing experience and wouldn't mind lending my face again for another shoot! i had so much fun! Music was playing, i was ampted, was fed cheeseburgers and hotdogs! (my kind of model food lol) cookies, wine coolers and overall felt very comfortable shooting thanks to Amon... check out his site http://www.amonfocusphotography.com/

Awesome girls aka models, awesome photographer, awesome make-up artist = a ish load of awesomeness!!!

My $9 outfit!... believe it!

So I tweeted yesterday (twitter.com/pinkrock) how I disliked Mandee's and thought it was pricey for no reason! Which in most cases its true :/.  I find the same things at DeJaneiros for $10 less, after yesterday.. I stand corrected.

I want to express my sincere apologies to Mandee's because yesterday for the first time ever I walked to their sales rack (which I rarely ever do because its usually stuff I wouldn't wear anyway) due to an emergency lol (I needed work clothes for today since I wasn't going to be staying at home and didn't pack enough) and I find these nice pants for $8, tried them on and they fit great (thought i hit the lotto). Then I find another pair of linen pants (which I'll take a picture with eventually) for a reduced $8.  As I'm walking to pay I see a sign that says "buy 2 get 1 free" CHAAAAAA CHIIIIIIINGGGG!!!!

I picked out this gray shirt and BAMMMM got 2 pairs of pants and a free shirt for $16 , and as if it couldn't get any better i get a 15% off coupon and the GRAND TOTAL FOR ALL 3 ITEMS WAS $14.!!! (Ahhhhh heaven music) its like paying $4.5 for each item!!!! total save of $57- there goes my cell phone bill ;)

HERE IT IS!!!!   --- Honestly... does it look like a $9 outfit?  NOOOOOOOOOOO

Dark Gray skinny pants and a gray top with just a shoulder detail..  worn with my Aldo shoes and Michael kors watch :)  and instead of the braid I decided to do the 5 year old hair twist... and it worked! lol

Silly wabbit!
Hard at work baaaaaaahhhhaaaaaahaha!

AND THAT MY FRIENDS... IS HOW YOU SHOP... (I JUST WISH I WAS THIS LUCKY EVERYDAY :/ )

ENJOY AND IF YOU'RE IN THE METROPOLITAN AREA CHECK THEM OUT.. BUY 2 GET ONE FREE... MAYBE YOU'RE LUCKY AND FIND GOOD STUFF LIKE I DID :)

Looks Fishy...

MY SPRING, SUMMER, and now FALL 2010 hairstyle :)

So I became way too lazy with my hair since March this year... don't want to flat iron it too much so i don't ruin it.. takes too long to blow dry... so I leave it to air dry but my hairs not perfect so of course it frizzes up  in the middle and i began to braid it.  I started doing the braid even to go out at night and it worked just fine.

Ultimately, this has become my Favorite, easiest and most convenient hairstyle to do.

Here are some pics...

First pic is the floral shirt i got from DeJaneiros... wore H&M shorts underneath along ancient gold sandals from none other than Payless... (yes.. payless does have a certain amount of cute lil summer numbers)

Blazer (in the middle) from DeJaneiros $18 with a Victoria's Secret Pink wife beater and my fishtail braid... Today I'm wearing my purple sleeveless mini-turtle neck from Express $10 (at Tanger Outlets in Riverdale) and a regular braid :)

And I'm not the only one who rocks the fishy.. here are a few celebrities who are in accordance with the braid :)

Also rocking the braid:  (sent in by one of my dearest followers)
Sammy Padilla :) so cute!

OWEEEEE enjoy ladies and try it... its cute and SimplyFabulous... THE BEST hairstyle ever lol

Here's how to do the fishtail braid (a little different than the regular braid) Excuse the lighting, sound and quality (its from a mini laptop :)

The Darkness of the Fall... or not!

Reading up on whats happening for the fall... this is what i came across....

Four top trends:
Winter Florals: Seen on designers such as Louis Vuitton, Carolina Herrera
Metallic: Seen on designers such as Marc Jacobs, Donna Karen
Texture: Marc Jacobs, Victoria Beckam
Color: Most designers are incorporating a few Red colored pieces into their collection to add color to the darkness of the fall...

Usually when we think of fall we picture browns, blacks a lot of darkness and a bulky clothing.  But as I went though a few dozen designers I found that although most of their pieces were indeed Dark they also managed to spice up the runway with reds, vibrant yellows, metallic, shiny materials in there to spark up the Fall with a little bit of light aka LIFE!

I came across a few trends I will expose to you to give you heads up for this fall and here it is...

FIRST AND FOREMOST!

REBECCA MINKOFF...  Twit Her!

This is why I love her.  She has the florals, the texture, army green, military style, the metallics with her bags... Simply... FABULOUS!!!! :)

BANANA REPUBLIC...

Mostly grays, army green but with a subtle pink and beige it adds a little color to their ensemble :)

BCBG MAX AZRIA...

BCBG Max Azria has the same idea... Dark Fall colors but add a little yellow and funky-it up!

BEBE KARDASHIAN...

Army green is apparently in Style and i love it!  These pieces are also great, there's the leather leggings, the army green, the colorful romper, and the classy blazer.

My Favorite Fall Collection of all... BETSEY JOHNSON

who said Fall has to be Dark because Betsey Johnson disagrees and says "IN YO FACE Dark"!

DOLCE AND GABBANA...

Black and white polka dots, sheer, metals, Blazers, and of course a touch of red. Dolce and Gabbana knows the deal.

LOUIS VUITTON...

A few on Louis... Leather and florals... We spoke about Fall Florals as one of the four styles for the fall and Louis Vuitton does it well...

MICHAEL KORS...

Michael Kors... one of my favorites... matches the runway with his collection... browns, army greens, and a lil bit of mahogany red to add the "UMPH" OH AND of course the black... subtle, simple, a bit boring but i like it :)

MOSCHINO...

Black and white stripes doesn't get trendier than that... adds the red with the ruffle skirt, hot pink ruffle top.. sticks to black and bright solid colors and the metal with the gold hoops on the black strapless dress :) love these pieces another fav!

VERA WANG...

Vera Wang adds the metallic, the pearls, the chiffon and the feathers... Love the combination of the pearls

VICTORIA BECKAM...

Last but not least.. Victoria Beckam's line of sleek dresses in various colors (including the RED) finish off my posts in giving you the latest on what to expect for this Fall.

For more looks on more designers feel free to check out www.elle.com/runway RTW - Ready-To-Wear collections of your favorite designers.  These are mine.. what are yours?

Hope i delivered... stay tuned for my beaded jewelry and my fall 2010 hairstyle pick :)
