I don't think anyone loves RebeccaMinkoff more than I do BUT I'm not too sure all these buckles tickle my fancy... The feeling I get when I see this bag its like a sense of urgency. You know when you have to go to the bathroom and you're wearing either this jumpsuit that you have to strip out of to go or a belt/zipper that gets stuck.. and you GOTTA GO!!!!!? yikes.

I think this has gone to a buckle madness..

To knit or not to Knit?..that is the question and the answer is yes!!! BUT not for $4,500 Prada... Once I reach the level of wealth I would love to be at we'll talk. For now... I think i'll ask my grandmother to teach me how to knit so i can make something just as fabulous. If you ask me, thats a bit pricey for a seasonal bag like this one. One Fall you're in... by the summer.. you're out!

Oh F&C i'm melting!!!! I LOVE CITY TOTES! because they turn into cross body bags.. most of them at least and this one is perfect! .. Leopard print, tassle, spacious.. PERFECT! what more can you ask for?

I'm over coach.. I think its a bit overrated but I love this new crossbody bag.. pricey but amazing. It can be a shoulder bag and can transform into a cross body bag! YUM!

Spill it!...Whats in YOUR bag?

Ever been curious about what people carry in their bag? I know I do ALLLLL the time...maybe I'm just Nosey Margie : ). When I was younger I didn't quite understand why woman indulged in these huge overbearing bags, but growing up forced me to see all the significant things a woman needs and should be prepared with- hence the parachute bags that are now IN style ; -p.
I'm a believer that a woman's purse defines who she is. Everything she carries depicts a little bit of their personality, even if that includes crumbled tissue paper and random candy wrappers lol. You'd be surprised of all the things you can find in your bag. And if you change your bag every other day like I do, you come to find that all of your bags have something in it. Whether its a receipt of some kind, a lip gloss you've been looking for days, a bill you have to pay, an address to get somewhere, your dry cleaning stub and the list goes on... (things that end up being garbage!!!!!)

I started doing some research and came across a few posts from random people displaying what was in their handbag and booooooy was I surprised to see what some of these woman were carrying around, shocking to say the least.

I took the liberty of asking my friends to strip their hang bag and dispose their dirty little secrets ; ). "no cheating, empty out ur bag AS IS...". Of course, if I ask something of you I should be able to reciprocate...so I'll expose mine first... ---now bare in mind this is "AS IN" so pls overlook the little papers and garbage... lol I had a rough couple of days..

(dont ask why i have motion sickness pills in my bag lol must of been when i went fishing 2 weeks ago.. yep.. they still there... I have the usual, tampon, stomach pills, wallet, shades ... nothing crazy)

Katie Menoscal's bag... prepared with the tampon just like me! lol ha its meant to be.. <-- didn't mean for that to rhyme! BUT it did lol

Alejandra Betancur's bag.. Love the color and the bag itself because its none other than a cross body bag : ) 2 pair of shades? oh summer raysss.

Ana Banegas's bag : ) she lovessss her some body sprays and lotion, I need to start carrying hand sanitizer!!!!

Jasmin Ayala's bag... simple simple! halls, lip gloss and a good book. Aside from the random papers laying around.. Such a School girl : )

Yuli Sanchez's bag... Girly Girly Girly, enough lipstick to last me for years! lol and I must say I have one of those vickys bag and I never imagined that ALL that stuff could fit in there. What movie you got in there?

Through-out the pictures you can tell who's into what, who's "girly", who likes comfy, who likes to be prepared etc... based on what they carry...without ever seeing the physical appearance of the owners you can picture how they dress and their personality.

The purpose of this post, not like the things I do really have purpose lol, is to show you the importance of your handbag and the role it plays. its like your treasure "purse" that carries your necessities, valuables, credentials (if any)... its YOUR LIFE!!!!!!.. I mean.. come on.. we can't live without our credit card, cell phone and tampons! oh and lip gloss OH DEAR LORD WHATS A WORLD WITHOUT LIP GLOSS!!!! soooo as you can see.. its not only essential to have a purse/hand bag its a must :) and YOUR hand bag always defines you in some kind of way...

"Back to school" ...

College was fun! But what was even more fun was finding the perfect bag to carry my books in, aside from the "socials" events of course ;). My sister is now a sophomore in college and inspired me to work on my next piece. Something comfortable yet trendy.

A backpack is too "middle school", a purse is too "high school" and so of course we decided on a spacious fabulous cross body bag. That's when this design comes in....

Every time I saw a hobo bag I always wondered... "this is soo easy to make.. why don't I just try it". And so I did. Making this bag was soo challenging but even more challenging when your sewing machine decides to get stuck :-S every 5 minutes... huge bummer. I still haven't had time to get pattern paper (per wikipedia: "In sewing and fashion design, a pattern is an original garment from which other garments of a similar style are copied, or the paper or cardboard templates from which the parts of a garment are traced onto fabric before cutting out and assembling..." A pattern makes life much easier. Once you can just trace the pieces on your desired fabric, it is much easier to just sew the pieces together and create your masterpiece.

So everything I've been making has been raw and improvised.

Choosing the pattern was the least of my worries. I came across this purple gray leopard print and knew it was meant to be. Who wouldnt like this pattern adorned with a gold chain on the front. I thought about putting buttons or a zipper so everything doesnt come out but the way i designed the bag it has a small flap that falls to the front and prevents spills of pens and paper. I enjoyed using this pattern and designing this bag.

But what I enjoy even more is seeing my sister fall in love with this bag not because I'm her sister and she has to, lol but because she wants to. and THATS a great feeling.

<---up close and personal.. I may extend the gold chain so that it covers the entire flap and not just the middle and also add chain to the handle. ---> here she is.. :) love the size, the design and the way it looks. the bag is comfy, trendy and "Simply Fabulous".

Wait till you see what i'll do next....

Wonderful creations of RebeccaMinkoff. I am IN love with her designs. Who wouldn't want to rock one of these???? These are great and comfortable and have inspired me to create more cross body bags that woman can wear anywhere whether it is to go shopping, attend a formal event, go to work etc.

I love the details she incorporates into her designs such as stones, patterns and colors.

The Beginning...

Handbags: "typically used by woman to hold essential personal items such as cosmetics, keys, cell phone and anything else that fits in there.”

My definition of a handbag: simply fabulous addition to your outfit.

I don’t know about you guys but I am obsessed with bags more than I am with shoes, shocker. To me bags should not only serve their purpose of locking away your most prized possessions such as your lip-gloss, your cell phone, your tampon and lotion, but it should also add a certain “umph” to your outfit.
I crave comfort!!! And crave for anything that stands out and makes a statement. So I started to create my very own line of cross body bags designs with my idea of what a bag should portray and what’s chic and edgy these days. From combination's of electric colors, sparkles, jewels, stones etc…

My envision of what’s next to be edgy and chic…

Who doesn’t loooove to shop? If you’re a female and you said NO… you’re just delusional . I LOVE TO SHOP! I became obsessed and comfortable with cross body bags because they’re easy to carry and you can pretty much go anywhere with them. Shop hands-free without worrying about how heavy it may become on your shoulder.

This is just the starters of what I hope becomes my dream come true.

Most of you don't know, but my mother was a seamstress and she was fabulous at it. She created and made by hand anything you can imagine from kids 3 piece outfits to complete wedding gowns to entire bridal party gowns. She was amazing at what she did and I always hoped to be like her. I started sewing when I was about 14 with my very own sewing machine and hope to one day make this vision a reality.
