Oscar de la renta born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (where I lived for 6 years :)
Left DR to study painting in Spain then "...became interested in the world of fashion design and began sketching for leading Spanish fashion houses, which soon led to an apprenticeship with Spain's most renowned couturier, Cristóbal Balenciaga. Later, de la Renta left Spain to join Antonio Castillo as a couture assistant at Lanvin in Paris."
And now he's one of the leading fashion designer in the world.

ReplyDeleteI believed Ive seen more sophistication on a $5 whore...total fail in my book...nothing screams out sophistication at me nor does he design anything original...everything has been seen before and too many times if you ask me..when will there be a new coco to breath life into the fashion world

ReplyDelete$5 whore? thats hilarious. i happen to disagree but thats my opinion :) Oscar has style and yes sophistication SOME of his pieces we've seen before but i can say the same about Michael Kors , Marc Jacobs, and even my ultimate fav Rebecca Minkoff but still their pieces are phenomenal... anywho hopefully u do get to witness the next coco in your lifetime!! thanks for stopping by tho and for ur input :)
